Hanoi Ranked the World's Second Friendliest City for Customer Service
Hanoi has been named the second-friendliest city in the world for customer service, according to a new global ranking released by MoneySuperMarket, one of the UK's largest price comparison platforms. The Vietnamese capital is also the only Southeast Asian city to make this year's top 10 list.
World-famous for hospitality & friendliness
The ranking, published in June 2026, analyzed more than 100,000 customer reviews covering restaurants, bars, attractions, and tourism-related businesses across 107 cities worldwide. Reviews were evaluated based on how frequently travelers mentioned friendly staff, welcoming service, and the overall quality of customer experience.
Edinburgh, Scotland, claimed the top spot, with 59% of reviews highlighting friendly customer service. Hanoi followed closely in second place with 58.6%, narrowly ahead of Liverpool, England, which ranked third with 58.3%.
The rest of the top 10 includes Paris (France), Dublin (Ireland), Montreal (Canada), Vienna (Austria), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Birmingham, and Bristol (United Kingdom).
According to MoneySuperMarket, Southeast Asia has long been recognized as one of the friendliest regions in the world, with countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam consistently praised by international travelers for their hospitality, warmth, and welcoming culture.

Vietnam itself has regularly appeared in international rankings celebrating the world's most hospitable destinations. In recent years, Hanoi has earned increasing recognition not only for its rich history and cultural heritage but also for the quality of its tourism services. Visitors frequently praise the city's hotels, restaurants, cafés, and attractions for their attentive staff and genuinely friendly atmosphere.
This latest recognition adds to Hanoi's growing list of international accolades. In 2025, the city ranked 11th among the World's 15 Favorite Cities in a survey by Time Out. In 2026, Condé Nast Traveler also included Hanoi in its list of the 50 Most Beautiful Cities in the World, further reinforcing its reputation as one of Asia's most appealing travel destinations.
