Mui Ne Named Among Top Global Destinations for 2026
Mui Ne has been recognized as one of the top trending global destinations for 2026 by Booking.com, thanks to its “surreal” landscapes, laid-back lifestyle, and reputation as a paradise for water sports.

According to Booking.com’s 10th annual Travel Predictions report, released on April 8, 2026, this year marks “The Era of You”—a shift where travelers move from asking “Where should I go?” to “What experience suits me best?” In that context, Mui Ne stands out as one of the top 10 global destinations, offering highly personalized travel experiences—from beachfront relaxation to outdoor adventures.
The ranking is based on global search data, booking trends, and surveys from tens of thousands of travelers. Destinations that made the list typically combine unique natural landscapes, authentic local culture, and a strong sense of discovery.
According to Branavan Aruljothi, Country Director of Booking.com Vietnam, Mui Ne’s inclusion reflects the growing demand for personalized travel experiences:
“As travel becomes a form of self-expression, Mui Ne offers a diverse ecosystem of experiences that allow visitors to design their own journeys.”
A Rising Star for Both International and Domestic Travelers
Not only is Mui Ne attracting global attention, it also ranks 9th among the most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese travelers—up one spot from the previous year.

What makes Mui Ne so appealing is its unique mix of:
Adventure activities like kitesurfing and water sports
Iconic landscapes such as vast sand dunes
A growing selection of high-end beachfront resorts
In terms of accommodation, travelers are increasingly opting for serviced apartments, guesthouses, and boutique stays, alongside traditional hotels.
From Fishing Village to Water Sports Hub
National Geographic once noted that Mui Ne has transformed from a quiet fishing village into one of Southeast Asia’s top water sports hubs. With its long coastline, consistent winds, and diverse terrain, it has become a favorite destination for kitesurfers and ocean sports enthusiasts.

Mui Ne first gained international attention in 1995, when a total solar eclipse drew thousands of visitors. Since then, it has rapidly developed into a major resort destination, with a growing number of beachfront properties.
Today, the Mui Ne National Tourist Area features:
Over 600 accommodation establishments
Nearly 18,000 rooms
A vibrant resort strip along Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, home to more than 50 resorts
Beyond the Beaches

Beyond its natural beauty, Mui Ne also offers rich local cultural experiences, including:
Traditional fishing villages
Bustling seafood markets
Van Thuy Tu Temple, home to thousands of whale skeletons preserved over centuries
Vietnam’s Growing Global Appeal
In the 2026 ranking, Mui Ne appears alongside international destinations such as Bilbao, Philadelphia, and Guangzhou—a clear sign of Vietnam’s rising profile on the global travel map.
Previously, Mui Ne also ranked 3rd among the most searched destinations in Google’s Year in Search 2025, just behind Da Lat and An Giang.

With its one-of-a-kind landscapes, vibrant coastal culture, and endless opportunities for adventure, Mui Ne is shaping up to be one of the most exciting destinations for personalized travel in 2026.
