Vietnam Airlines has strengthened Vietnam–Indonesia connectivity with the official launch of its new direct Jakarta–Hà Nội route on November 23. The service comes at a time when travel demand between the two nations is steadily rising and economic cooperation is expanding across trade, tourism, and investment sectors. The new route adds an important northern gateway for Indonesian travelers visiting Vietnam for leisure, business, and especially golf tourism.

The inaugural flights marked a smooth start, with flight VN634 departing Jakarta at 01:30 on November 23 and landing in Hà Nội at 05:50, carrying 131 passengers. In the opposite direction, VN635 left Hà Nội the evening prior and arrived in Jakarta just after midnight. Operated by the Airbus A321 with a capacity of up to 185 passengers, the service currently runs five times per week and is scheduled to increase to daily flights starting April, reflecting Vietnam Airlines’ confidence in travel demand.

For Indonesian travelers, this new direct connection creates a more convenient and time-efficient way to reach Vietnam’s cultural and economic centers. The airline’s strong partnership with Gapura Angkasa—Indonesia’s largest ground-handling provider—also ensures smoother operations, reliable schedules, and better handling of baggage, which is particularly valuable for golf travelers carrying equipment.

Hà Nội’s position as the northern gateway opens up a completely new golf corridor for Indonesian players. Within easy reach of the capital are some of Vietnam’s most acclaimed courses, including BRG Kings Island, Skylake Golf Club, Tam Đảo Golf Resort, and the scenic Hạ Long courses. With the new direct flight, Indonesian golfers can now plan weekend golf escapes, tournaments, or group tours with far greater ease.

The route also supports larger golf groups and operators, thanks to the A321’s consistent seat capacity and the airline’s growing regional network. Vietnam continues to offer more competitively priced golf packages compared to many neighboring destinations, giving Indonesian golfers access to world-class courses, international-standard facilities, and more variety for less cost.

Beyond leisure travel, the route aligns with increased business flow between Vietnam and Indonesia. As Hà Nội remains Vietnam’s political and MICE hub, the new flight makes it easier for Indonesian executives and corporate groups to combine meetings, conferences, and networking with premium golf and tourism experiences.

Outside the fairways, Vietnam offers Indonesian travelers a rich blend of cultural attractions, familiar culinary flavors, Halal-friendly dining options, lively nightlife, and warm hospitality. With the new Jakarta–Hà Nội route, Vietnam Airlines is not only improving regional connectivity but also strengthening Vietnam’s position as one of Southeast Asia’s most attractive destinations for leisure, business, and golf tourism.
